  • 1959: Born in Dublin, Ireland
  • 1969-1975: Began to play the uilleann pipes and whistles.
  • 1975 onwards: Played in festivals and concerts in UK and Europe
  • 1979: Starred and played male lead in Joe Comerford’s award winning featured film Traveller
  • 1980-86: Founding member of Moving Hearts, one of the most successful Irish Bands of the 1980′s -He played on all 4 of their albums, and commenced his composing career notably on the Storm album
  • 1988-1993: Signed to the Independent label Tara Records
    Made 4 solo records with his band and a multitude of international special guests Atlantic Bridge, Out of the Air, Shadow Hunter, Pipedreams. Guest soloist on Bill Whelan’s Seville Suite. Eastwind collaboration with Bill Whelan, the foundation album for the Riverdance Project.
  • 1991: Signed to Columbia/Sony Publishing
  • 1994: Signed to Columbia/Sony Record label
    -A placed where the Stones released in Ireland UK and Europe, featuring Steve Winwood and Maire Brennan Clannad
  • 1995-1996: Riverdance. Special guest soloist originally starring on the video Riverdance the show. World tour
  • 1996: Signed to Columbia/Sony USA. A Place Among the Stones released in the USA.
  • 1998: A Sea of Dreams released in USA and Japan, featuring Sinead O’Connor. (SONY)
    -Album pre-launched with a personal appearance on the David Letterman show
  • 1999: Sea of Dreams touring
  • 2000: Burrenstone Record label established and releases its first album Forgotten Days. Album of the year Irish music magazine. 2001.
  • 2000: Grammy award winner as musician-producer
  • 2001: Grammy nomination with Paul Winter and touring/promotion in Japan
  • 2002/2003: writing The Deep Blue Sea, Sony Japan album commissioned
  • 2004: Sony Promotion. USA university tour/artist in residence
  • 2005:Sony Japan Release
  • 2006:Kate Bush Album. Writing new album
  • 2007: Qualified as coastguard S.A.R. Boat Captai/ Coxwain/ Navigator
